We recieved a request for scaled up versions of the traditional red laughing buddhas to enhance 'Sanctuary' bar and restaurant in Boston. I started by editing smaller versions of the figures to the clients specifications in order to fit the space. Then we sized up the figures and I carved them out of a combination of rigid urethane foam and EPS foam. Then we sealed the foam and coated them with a durable two part plastic. We made any corrections to seam lines and divots with bondo filler and sanded them smooth. They were then primed, painted and readied to ship.
I did this work while at Foam Props in Woburn MA.
